In Memory of Lauren Renee Cole

A 2017 graduate of West Virginia University, Lauren moved on to pursue her Master’s Degree in Social Work while also working as a social worker for Valley Mental Health. Lauren’s passion for helping others shined through in her personal life where she was a friend to everyone. She had a strong desire to help those who were marginalized by society and those suffering from addiction. Anyone who knew Lauren knew her heart was full of empathy, compassion and unconditional love. There was no greater love than hers.

Aside from Lauren’s social work, she loved playing sports. She was quite accomplished in softball, swimming, soccer, lacrosse, UHS cheer, WVU Competitive Cheer, tumbling, snowboarding, skiing, CrossFit, hunting, and fishing. Her accolades included, Cheer Captain and First Team NCAC for Lacrosse all 4 years at UHS, scoring over 100 goals. Lauren lived her life as a humble friend and teammate, while always putting the needs of others ahead of her own.

Lauren lived her later years suffering from addiction. It is the internal and external beauty of Lauren that inspires our team to advance Lauren’s Wish. Lauren worked to help heal those fighting addiction, and for that reason we have established Lauren’s Wish to continue her work. No matter the personal accomplishments or golden heart, addiction does not discriminate.
